Adam Bennett joined the University of Minnesota athletic medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer in September 2016. Bennett works with the Minnesota football team.
Bennett came to Minnesota after working at Florida Atlantic University as an assistant athletic trainer since April 2015. He worked with the football and swimming and diving teams at Florida Atlantic. Bennett also oversaw graduate assistant for track and field, cross country and football.
Prior to joining Florida Atlantic, Bennett spent a year interning with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers athletic training department. He assisted with the prevention and rehabilitation of acute athletic injuries.
Bennett spent two years at the University of Southern Mississippi as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for football and women's tennis while earning a master's degree in sport management. He coordinated appropriate exercise guidelines with strength and conditioning personnel for injured athletes, and supervised athletic training students and assisted in teaching curriculum.
While earning a bachelor's of science in athletic training from Florida State, Bennett worked with women's soccer, football, baseball and men's basketball. He also served as a summer intern with the Houston Texans and spent a year as an exercise technician at Tallahassee Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy.
Bennett is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
