--> Men's basketball sophomore Rick Rickert was named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District V Men's Basketball First Team. He earned the honor with a 3.31 grade point average as an undeclared major. Rickert is averaging 15.9 points and 6.3 rebounds in 22 games this season.

Rounding out the District V first team was Greg Babcock (Wisconsin-Green Bay), Clint Cuffle (Evansville), Matt McCollom (Ball State) and Brandon Miller (Butler). With the honor, Rickert is now eligible to become an Academic All-American.
