Steve Goodson enters his first season as the Director of Basketball Operations under Head Coach Richard Pitino.

The product of Tell City, Ind. previously spent six seasons on former Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith's staff as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach. He also spent the 2006-07 season as a special assistant to Smith at Kentucky after earning his degree from UK in 2005. During his time working for Smith, Goodson oversaw all video duties and assisted in the running of Coach Smith's basketball camps.

Goodson was a student manager from 2001-05 at UK and a coach for Tubby Smith Basketball Camps. He gained additional experience as an operations intern for USA Basketball each summer from 2002-06. He also assisted the Team USA coaching staff at the 2005 World University Games that won the gold medal in Turkey.

Goodson resides in Minneapolis.
