Gopher Baseball announced Tuesday that the team will host open tryouts later this month for potential student athletes looking to join the program.
Current University of Minnesota students interested in participating in the tryouts must attend an organizational meeting next Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. at the Siebert Field Training Center. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 credits at the University and possess documentation of a current doctor’s physical (within the last 12 months) at the time of tryout and be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center (eligibilitycenter.org) within 45 days upon successfully making the team.
Additionally, potential future Gophers will need proof of sickle-cell blood test results and turn in tryout documentation attained at the meeting before Friday, Sept. 15. The walk-on tryout session will take place on Monday, Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Siebert Field.
