NWL Top 200
Three Gophers are among the Northwoods League's top 200 prospects released in a list today. Juniors Dalton Sawyer, Connor Schaefbauer and Dan Motl all received recognition.
Sawyer checks in highest of the three at No. 41. He pitched for the St. Cloud Rox this summer. Sawyer led the Gophers with six saves in 2014, then struck out 37 batters in 30 innings for the Rox.
Schaefbauer, ranked 89th, played for the Rochester Honkers. He was Minnesota's batting champion at .287 before hitting .307 for St. Cloud in the summer.
Motl was listed at 189th following his season with the Willmar Stingers. He hit .283 with 29 starts in center field for the Gophers, and .285 for Willmar.
