About 125 golfers played in the Dan Morgan Golf Open at Medina Golf and Country Club on Monday. Rain held off until late in the day as supporters of Golden Gopher baseball helped to raise money for the program in former Minnesota All-American Dan Morgan's memory.
A team of former Gophers - Billy Johnson, Mike Mee, Tom Buske and Kyle Baran - won the four-person scramble tournament. Golfers also had opportunities to win long drive, long putt and closest to the pin contests.
The day concluded with dinner and a prize raffle emceed by head coach John Anderson and former player and head coach George Thomas. Prizes included memorabilia signed by former Gophers and other pros, tickets to various sporting events and round trip airfare.
Special thanks to the Dugout Club, all event sponsors and everyone who came to the course on Monday. Thanks also to former Gophers Glen Perkins and Paul Molitor who stopped by before the round before heading to Target Field.
