Alec Crawford has been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference Monday. It is Crawford’s first time earning the honor.
The Wilton, Iowa, native helped the Gophers beat No. 8 Indiana 2-1 in 10 innings last Thursday. Crawford tied a career high with eight innings pitched, and allowed just one run on three hits. Only two runners reached third base against Crawford in Bloomington.
Crawford is the second Gopher to win Big Ten Pitcher of the Week this season. Neal Kunik earned the honor April 28.
