May 1, 2014

Golden Gophers’ junior Ben Meyer has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District team for District 6 announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

All-District winners move on to the ballot for Academic All-America honors. The Capital One Academic All-District and All-America program recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.

Meyer, an accounting major, is currently the second starting pitcher in Minnesota’s rotation. He enters the weekend with a 2.42 ERA, 4-2 record and 50 strikeouts.
