2016 • SENIOR SEASON:
Threw 2.0 innings of relief and struck out two versus Utah Valley (2/20) • came on in relief and tossed 1.0 inning at Campbell (2/28) • struck out two in 2.0 innings of work at Seattle U (3/16) • threw 1.2 innings and tallied a pair of strikeouts at Utah Valley (3/20) • earned first win of the season after coming out of the bullpen and tossing 2.0 flawless frames while adding two strikeouts against Northern Illinois (4/6) • tallied 1.2 scoreless innings of relief with one strikeout against South Dakota State (4/12).
2015 • JUNIOR SEASON:
Co-recipient of the Gophers' David Chelesnik Jr. Memorial Award (perseverance, courage and ability to overcome obstacles) after recovering from arm surgery to return to the mound • made 14 relief appearances • had a 4.67 ERA, 1-3 record and one save in 17.1 innings • struck out 10 and walked eight • held a 1.80 ERA in four Big Ten appearances (5.0 innings) • Academic All-Big Ten. Game Highlights: At Texas, pitched in a game for the first time since February 2014 (2/21) • struck out two in 2.1 scoreless innings at FGCU (2/28) • allowed one hit and one walk in 2.0 innings at Richmond (3/17) • struck out a season-high three batters against Michigan, allowing one run on one hit (4/26) • had one hit, one walk and one strikeout in 2.2 innings against Kansas State (4/29).
Earned his first win by pitching three innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out two against Northern Illinois (2/15) • pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief in a loss to Creighton (2/24) • his season was cut short due to injury • Academic All-Big Ten.
2013 • SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Pitched a career high 37.0 innings with a 3-0 record to a 2.92 ERA • named to Academic All-Big Ten Team • led the team with a .177 opponent's batting average • fourth on the team in strikeouts (38) • his 37.0 innings pitch were good for fifth on the team • tied for third on the team with 16 appearances • had a 38:14 K:BB ratio • made five starts going 3-0 and allowing a measly 1.41 ERA • had a streak of three straight relief appearances allowing a run (2/17-27). Game Highlights: Struck out a career high (6) in 3.1 innings of relief against Dartmouth • picked up his first win of the season against Nebraska-Omaha (3/12) going 4.0 innings, allowing no runs, and striking out four • lasted 4.0 innings against Kansas St. (3/19) allowing only one run • struck out five in four innings in a winning start against South Dakota St. (3/27) • was credited with a win against Northwestern (4/12) pitching 3.0 innings in relief while striking out six • struck out five in 2.2 innings of work in a 5-3 win over North Dakota St. (4/24) • pitched against Indiana in the Big Ten Tournament (5/23) going 2.0 innings allowing no runs and striking out two Hoosiers.
2012 • FRESHMAN SEASON:
Made nine appearances and three starts as a rookie • pitched 19.0 innings and a 2-0 record • struck out seven and allowed nine earned runs. Game Highlights: Made his collegiate debut against UW-Milwaukee when he pitched 1.0 inning (2/26) • also pitched in the New Mexico State game (3/1) and allowed one hit, walked two and struck out one • struck out a career-high four batters in 2.0 innings of work against Hamline (3/7) • made his first collegiate start against North Dakota State (3/21) • came in relief during the South Dakota State win (3/28) and went an inning • made his second start and pitched 3.0 innings against Augsburg (4/3) to hold the Auggies hitless and struck out two • tied a career-high longest performance when he went 4.0 innings and held Nebraska-Omaha scoreless (4/18) • pitched an inning in the final game at Siebert Field (5/1) when he struck out two.
Graduated from Eastview High School in 2011 and played for coaches Tom Strey and Mark Groebner • earned South Suburban Lake conference honors in 2009, 2010 and 2011 • three-year letterwinner in baseball • suffered an injury his senior year, limiting appearances • career leader in strikeouts with 133 in three seasons • ranks second in school history in innings pitched (133) and in wins, trailing only former Gopher and Eastview pitcher Allen Bechstein • selected as Eastview's pitcher of the year in 2009 and 2010 • also played hockey and was a three-year letterwinner.
