Gophers Rally Past Illini

Minnesota rallied for a 3-2 win over Illinois in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.

PRIOR TO MINNESOTA: Named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Third Team All-American as a sophomore • led the NJCAA with 19 home runs • placed fourth nationally with 72 runs batted in, also a team high • his 19 home runs in 2012 placed him second on DMACC's single-season home run record list • held a .360 batting average and hammered out a .711 slugging percentage and a .457 on-base percentage • teammate of incoming Gopher pitcher Alec Crawford as the duo helped DMACC to a 55-15 overall record • member of the Bears team that won their fifth ICCAC (Iowa Community College Athletic Conference) championship, regional and district champions and qualified for the NJCAA Division II Baseball National Championship • as a first baseman, he posted a .990 fielding percentage.
