2016 • SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Threw 2.1 flawless innings and struck out one against Utah (2/19) • saw action on the mound and struck out one in 1.0 inning versus Utah (2/21) • earned the save after tossing 2.2 innings and striking out three at Campbell (2/27) • tossed 2.0 innings and allowed just two hits at Georgia State (3/6) • came on for 0.1 innings at Seattle U (3/18) • threw 2.0 innings of relief work at Utah Valley (3/18) • saw action out of the bullpen at No. 23 Missouri State (3/26) and versus Northern Illinois (4/6) • tossed 2.0 scoreless frames in 10-0 win against North Dakota State (4/19) • netted a strikeout in 1.0 flawless inning of work out of the bullpen against Indiana (5/6).
Played for the Battle Creek Bombers in the Northwoods League • appeared in 13 games and started one on the mound • held a 2-1 record and a 4.33 ERA • hurled 37.1 innings and struck out 29 • maintained an opposing batting average of just .229 • recorded multiple strikeouts in nine appearances, including three games with four-plus strikeouts.
2015 • FRESHMAN SEASON:
Made eight appearances, including four starts • had a 5.96 ERA and 1-1 record in 22.2 innings pitched • struck out 11 batters and walked nine. Game Highlights: Struck out two and allowed three runs on five hits in 2.0 innings of relief vs. St. John's in his collegiate debut (3/31) • In 3.0 innings of relief at Rutgers, struck one out and allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk (4/4) • tossed 2.0 shutout innings vs. North Dakota State (4/14) • made his first start vs. Penn State for 4.1 innings, striking out a season-high four and allowing three runs (two earned) (4/19) • went a season-high 6.1 innings vs. UC-Irvine and struck out three and allowed two runs, none after the first inning (5/2).
Graduated from Lodi High School in 2014 • finished his prep career with a 24-2 pitching record • hit .520, stole 10 bases and had a 1.20 ERA and 7-1 record as a senior • two-time Capitol Conference Player of the Year and four-time all-conference selection • named Wisconson State Journal All-Area Player of the Year and WBCAC South Central District Player of the Year in 2014 • helped Lodi win the Wisconsin Division 2 title as a junior • led the Blue Devils with a .620 batting average and 0.30 ERA as he compiled a pitching record of 5-0 in 2013 • coached by Kip Nordstrom • played summer ball with Team Pro Player and Lodi's American Legion squad • also a hockey letterwinner and all-conference and all-district honorable mention football player.

Minnesota assistant baseball coach Todd Oakes passed away today after a courageous and public battle with leukemia. Oakes, who coached the Minnesota pitching staff, was 55.
