In 2011, he and the Sioux Falls East team won the South Dakota State Championship in 2011 named the most valuable player after hitting .419 for the state runner-up team in 2010 with O'Gorman, three-time, first-team all-state selection as a junior, hit .471 batting average and 37 RBI standout basketball and football athlete led O'Gorman to a South Dakota Class 2A state championship in basketball and named to the all-tournament team 2012 all-state honoree and AA Basketball's Player of the year O'Gorman's starting quarterback his final two seasons National Honor Society member.
