October 28 - Freshman Taylor Uhl collected her second hat trick of the season as the soccer team steamrolled Nebraska 6-3 in the regular season finale to secure the program's fifth straight .500 finish or better in the Big Ten. (read more)

October 29 - Two touchdowns in the final eight-plus minutes, including a three-yard scamper from MarQueis Gray on fourth down with 2:48 to play, gave Minnesota its second-straight win over Iowa at TCF Bank Stadium. (read more)

November 12 - Stephanie Price (sixth) and Ashlie Decker (12th) turned in All-Midwest Region performances as the Gophers earned an NCAA Championships cross country bid. (read more)

November 21 - Hassan Mead caps a record-breaking cross country career with his fourth All-America honor at the NCAA Championships, just nine days after being named Midwest Region Athlete of the Year. (read more)

December 3 - The Gopher volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat Washington and reach the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the third straight season. (read more)

January 17 - The Gopher dance team won its third straight national title at the UCA/UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships. (read more)

January 29 - Big Ten Freshman of the Year Rachel Banham scored 20 points as the Gopher women's basketball team shocked No. 9 Ohio State, 76-65, at Williams Arena. (read more)

February 18 - The Gopher women's swimming & diving team captured its fourth Big Ten title with 680.5 points in Iowa City. Maggie Keefer was named the Diver of the Championships, while Kelly Kremer and Terry Nieszner were named the Swimming Coaches of the Year. (read more)

March 17 - Tony Nelson won a national title at heavyweight and J Robinson was named national coach of the year as Minnesota finished second at the NCAA Wrestling Championships in St. Louis. Redshirt freshman Dylan Ness finished runner-up at 141 pounds. (read more)

March 18 - The Gopher women's hockey team won its third NCAA Championship with a 4-2 victory over rival Wisconsin at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth. Senior Emily West's goal off a penalty shot would prove to be the difference in the victory. (read more)

March 24 - The Gopher women's tennis team defeated Michigan State, 5-2, to improve to 12-1 on the season, the best start in school history. (read more)

March 25 - Seven different Golden Gophers earned All-American accolades at the 2012 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships in Seattle, Wash. (read more)

March 25 - The 44th ranked Gopher men's tennis team upset No. 28 Michigan, 4-3, at Baseline Tennis Center to retain the Little Brown Jug, the prize awarded to the winning team. (read more)

March 25 - The Gopher men's hockey team avenged a loss in the WCHA Final Five with a 5-2 rout of North Dakota in the West Regional Final at the Xcel Energy Center. The win propelled Minnesota to Tampa for the 2012 Frozen Four. (read more)

March 27 - Freshman Andre Hollins scored 20 points as the Gopher basketball team upended Washington, 68-67, in overtime to reach the championship game of the NIT at Madison Square Garden. (read more)

April 7 - Dusti Russell and Kayla Slechta both earned trips to the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships with strong performances in the regional held in Salt Lake City. (read more)

April 19 - Senior gymnast DJ Repp was honored as a finalist for the Nissen-Emery Award, one of just six finalists to the award for the nation's top gymnast. (read more)

April 21 - With as many as six freshmen in the starting lineup during the year, the softball team stunned national powerhouse Michigan with a two-game sweep at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. (read more)

April 23 - Virginia Commonwealth's Norwood Teague is introduced as Minnesota's new Athletics Director, replacing Joel Maturi who stepped down following ten years at the helm. (read more)

May 1 - Banchalee Theinthong became the first Gopher golfer to earn All-Big Ten honors since the 1997 season. (read more)

May 1 - The baseball team took part in a historic event when the Golden Gophers earned a 9-2 win over St. Thomas in the final game at Siebert Field. Andy Henkemeyer delivered the final hit in the ball park with a grand slam in the seventh inning. (read more)

May 19 - Erik Van Rooyen shot a final round 68 and climbed 11 spots to finish 19th at the 2012 NCAA Ann Arbor Regional. His 72.45 stroke average was the ninth-lowest single-season mark in school history. (read more)

May 22 - Rower Molly Kalmoe became only the fifth Gopher to earn Division I Central All-Region First Team honors and the first since 2009. (read more)

May 26 - The Gopher 4x100-meter relay team set a new school record (44.32) and qualified for the NCAA Championships, becoming just the second 4x100 team to qualify in school history. (read more)

June 8 - All-Americans Quentin Mege and Micah Hegerle placed top eight in the hammer throw, while Hassan Mead earned his seventh and final All-America citation at the NCAA Track & Field Championships. (read more)
