Celebrate Ag and Food Day 2017

The University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS), Gopher Sports Properties, University of Minnesota Athletics and a collection of agribusinesses from throughout the state will be joining forces to hold the fifth annual Celebrate Ag and Food Day.

The agriculture and food industries are important economic engines to Minnesota’s economy and that is reflected within the Twin Cities metro culture and the University’s metropolitan campus. Celebrate Ag and Food Day will put the spotlight on these industries.

Thank you to Presenting Partners: Land O Lakes and Compeer Financial Services.  Other participating partners include: Bayer Crop Science, MN Corn Growers, MN Farm Bureau, MN Pork Producers, AgriGrowth, Christensen Farms, Midwest Dairy Association, Minnesota Turkey, MN Soybean, Cargill, AgCountry Farm Credit Services and Brownfield.

The day will begin with University President Eric Kaler visiting with key agribusiness leadership and welcoming them to TCF Bank Stadium. Highlights of the state’s food and agriculture contributions will be presented throughout the game.

Careers in the agriculture and food industries, from current students aspiring to those fields and alumni currently in those roles, will also be at the forefront. Students and local corporations will have a chance to connect and engage with one another and a video showcasing careers in these fields will be played at halftime.

This year's theme is Unlimited Opportunity and the halftime video will showcase the many opportunities within the Agriculture and Food Industry.

Join us in the Gopher Garden on Oak Street outside of 3M Arena at Mariucci starting at 11:30 a.m. for tailgate activities, free samples and more!
