James Slagle is the Assistant Director of Marketing at the University of Minnesota. His role includes planning, coordinating, and executing the marketing elements for Gopher football, men’s basketball, and wrestling. He also serves as the Athletic Marketing liaison to on-campus departments, and assists with other event on campus such as Homecoming, Welcome Week, and Goldy's Run.

Prior to arriving in the Twin Cities in February 2012, Slagle worked and studied at the University of Southern California (USC). He earned his Master's Degree in Education from USC in 2012 and spent several years working in their Student-athlete Academic Services and Athletic Marketing departments.

Slagle is a native of Chicago, Ill., and also has a bachelor's degree in Communication and Management from Saint John's University (Minnesota). Slagle is the Big Ten Conference's Representative to the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) and serves as an adjunct professor of Sports Marketing at the University of Minnesota.
