Sarah Wambheim joined the Athletic Medicine staff at the University of Minnesota as an assistant athletic trainer, working with the Gophers in August 2016. Sarah began working with the Women's Soccer team after providing coverage for the Gophers Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field teams for one season.
Prior to joining the Gophers, Wambheim was a Certified Athletic Training Fellow at the University of Kansas where she provided primary athletic training coverage for the women’s tennis team and spirit squad. A graduate of North Dakota State University, Wambheim completed her Masters of Athletic Training at NDSU in May 2015 after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in August 2014. 

Sarah holds certifications as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), ICTA Certified Cupping Therapist (CCT), is trained in lower extremity Active Release Therapy and is a BLS Instructor for the American Heart Association

A native of Apple Valley, Minn., Wambheim is a graduate of Eastview High School. She currently resides in Minneapolis.
