Rhett Caviel was hired as the new Assistant Director of Athletic Compliance in August 2016. Rhett will handle all compliance office matters for the sports of Softball, Rowing, Women’s & Men’s Gymnastics, Women’s & Men’s Tennis, and Women’s & Men’s Swimming and Diving.
Prior to the U, Rhett worked in compliance at SMU, mainly working with Bylaws 13, 16, and 17. Before that, Rhett was an Academic Advisor at Missouri State University. Rhett began his compliance career at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, working as the compliance graduate assistant. Rhett is an active member of the National Association of Athletic Compliance (NAAC) and Minority Opportunities Athletic Administration (MOAA).
Rhett received his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with a focus in sport and exercise science from UMKC. Rhett was a member of the University of Missouri football team while completing his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
