Matt Hollan is an Athletic Groundskeeper for the University of Minnesota. He performsdaily maintenance to the athletic field playing surfaces at TCF Bank Stadium, Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex, and Bierman Fields and Athletic Building, along withmaintaining surrounding landscapes, and managing student and season workforce.
Prior to his role at the University of Minnesota, Matt was a Graduate Research Assistantat the University of Tennessee conducting various turfgrass physiology and athletic field playing quality research projects. Other athletic field management roles include the Minnesota Twins, University of Tennessee, Tennessee Smokies, and Iowa StateUniversity.
Matt is active member of the national Sports Turf Manages Association, participatingon several committees, and local Minnesota Park and Sports Turf Manager Association, participating in community service projects and educational events. Matt graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Horticulture - Turfgrass Management. He is alsopursuing an MS in Agronomy, investigating the efficacy of postemergent herbicides for control of Poa annua within Minnesota athletic fields.
