Mandy Hansen joined the University of Minnesota as an assistant director of athletic communications in August 2013. She serves as the primary communications contact for Gopher women's hockey, women's track & field and women's cross country.

Prior to joining the staff at Minnesota, Hansen served as an athletic communications assistant at the University of Wisconsin where she oversaw media relations for the 2011 national champion Badger women's hockey team and worked with the Wisconsin men's soccer and men's and women's tennis programs. Most recently, she spent two years working in communications and marketing at Hamline University School of Law.

Hansen served as the athletic media relations graduate assistant at the University of Denver from 2007-2009 while completing her master's degree in public relations. She was the primary media contact for the Pioneer women's soccer and women's gymnastics teams and aided in communication efforts for all 17 DU athletic programs, including the Denver men's hockey, basketball and lacrosse teams.

A Duluth, Minn., native, Hansen graduated from the College of St. Scholastica with her bachelor's degree in communication and English in 2007. During her undergraduate career, she was a member of the Saints track & field and soccer teams and worked as a sports information student assistant for three years.
