J.T. Bruett was named Director of the McNamara Academic Center in July 2015 after he served as Director of Compliance the previous eight years.
He previously served as an Assistant and Associate Director of Compliance at Minnesota since November 2001. Prior to working at the U of M, J.T. was an Assistant Baseball Coach at the University of Illinois at Chicago for four years and had a brief stint in the compliance office.
J.T. is a former baseball student-athlete at the University of Minnesota and was drafted in the 11thby the Minnesota Twins in 1988. He was a professional baseball player for eight years, playing in the Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals organizations. J.T. made his major league debut with Twins in June 1992 and spent part of the 1993 season with the major league team as well.
He completed his undergraduate degree from the U of M in 1993 and Master's degree in Sport Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001.
