John Parenti is in his first year with University of Minnesota Athletics as Director of Nutrition. In his new role, John will oversee the development of all nutritional protocols for the athletics teams, including fueling strategies, team and individualized nutrition education, hydration, and body composition testing.
Previously, John served as a Performance Nutritionist for the Louisville Football Program where he had primary oversight of all nutrition aspects. Prior to Louisville, John spent three years at the University of Alabama where he worked primarily with Baseball, Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Men's and Women's Tennis, and assisted with the football team. John began his sports nutrition career interning for the Nebraska Sports Nutrition department in 2009
A Nebraska alum, John earned degrees in dietetics and nutrition and exercise health science in 2013. He earned his Masters degree in Nutrition Sciences with an emphasis Sports Nutrition through Texas Tech University in 2016.
