Chris Ashton is entering his twelfth season as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota working with the Golden Gopher Football team. Ashton, a Wheeling, WV native, graduated from West Virginia University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in Athletic Training. Ashton is familiar with the Big Ten, working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the University of Michigan football program from 2000-2002. He received his Masters' of Science degree in Kinesiology from Michigan in April 2002 prior to his arrival at Minnesota. Ashton has presented at numerous conferences at the local, regional, and national levels on topics including concussion evaluation & management, athletic pubaligia, shoulder instability, and trauma injuries. He is the current Vice-President of the Minnesota Athletic Trainers' Association.
