Austin Lagesse is in his first year as an Athletic Communications Assistant with the University of Minnesota. He serves as the primary communications contact for Gopher softball, as well as men's and women's swimming and diving.
He previously served as a student assistant in sports information helping with the coverage of 33 sports at McKendree University. While at McKendree, Lagaesse served as a play-by-play broadcaster, public address announcer and statistician. Lagesse also enjoyed a summer internship in Oklahoma City, Okla. with USA Softball assisting in coverage of the Women's National Team, Junior Women's National Team, USA Softball Junior Olympic Cup and USA Softball 18U GOLD National tournament.
Other communication experience includes assisting the Great Lakes Valley Conference with numerous conference championships, Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Tournament and NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Second and Third Rounds.
A native of Bourbonnais, Ill., Lagesse graduated from McKendree University with his bachelor's degree in sport management.
