Andy Johnson is an Athletic Groundskeeper for the University of Minnesota. He maintains and takes careof all outdoor athletic fields including the surrounding landscapes and manages student and seasonal workforce. Andy has more than four years of experience working as an Athletic Groundskeeper at theUniversity of Minnesota.
Andy is an active member of the Minnesota Parks and Sports Turf Managers Association MPSTMA.Within this organization he participates in charity functions of renovating local ball fields for youth organizations. He is also a member of the national Sports Turf Managers Association.
Andy was given distinct recognition from the women's soccer team for service and field management in 2011 and was also awarded special honors from the Minnesota Vikings for preparing TCF Bank Stadium in December, 2010 for Monday Night Football.
Andy continues educational efforts in water conservation, groundwater and surface water quality, soil erosion, shrub care, pitching mound clay construction, turf repair, mound repair, integrated pest management and healthy turf maintenance practices.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers took down North Dakota State University in the home opener at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium 3-0 in front of 1,662 fans, the fourth most in program history.
