Andrew Nelson was hired in the fall of 2011 as Assistant Director of Compliance at the University of Minnesota and is the compliance representative serving the sports of Men's Track & Field/CrossCountry, Rowing, Soccer, Wrestling and Men's and Women's Tennis. He works with all sports in theareas of recruiting monitoring, camps/clinics and rules education while also serving as the complianceliaison to the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
Prior to working at the University of Minnesota, Nelson worked in the University of Denver Compliance Office during the summer of 2011 after spending 2008-2010 working as a Compliance Intern and Compliance Assistant at the University of Colorado. Nelson was an intern during the summer of 2008 with the Iowa State University Compliance Office.
Nelson was a member of Phi Delta Phi honor society during his time at the University of Denver SturmCollege of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2010. He also received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Iowa in 2007.
