On Sunday, Nov. 13 a food drive will be held at the Sports Pavilion as the volleyball team hosts Michigan at 1 p.m., followed by Williams Arena on Nov. 14 as men's basketball hosts South Dakota State at 7 p.m. The last two food drives will also be held at Williams Arena in conjunction with women's basketball's Subway Classic on Nov. 19-20.
Along with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and their group, Maroon-Madness, Gopher athletes will volunteer and stand at multiple arena entrances before and during the games asking for charitable contributions for food or monetary donations. This is the 12th year the University of Minnesota has held a food drive at various Gopher athletic events.
The food collected during all the drives will go to Second Harvest Heartland, the upper Midwest's largest hunger-relief organization.
