CARLSBAD, Calif. - Minnesota Athletics and CBSSports.com College Network - the leader in the management and distribution of official athletic websites for colleges and universities - today announced a partnership on an enhanced athletics website, providing Gopher fans with improved features and overall customer service.
Beginning today, the revamped GopherSports.com will use the latest technology to provide fans with a seamless, robust experience unique to the University of Minnesota. CBSSports.com College Network, in cooperation with Minnesota's athletics internet services and communications staff, has been working the past several months in preparing the site's new look for launch today.
"The University of Minnesota Athletics Department is excited about our new partnership with CBS Interactive. In addition to a redesigned GopherSports.com website, the partnership will also bring an expansion of streamed Gopher Sports events, enhanced technology and additional on-air promotion through BTN. We are continually striving to improve the delivery of Gopher Sports content," said Jason LaFrenz, Associate Athletics Director for External Relations.
Among the new and updated features at GopherSports.com includes:
- Live audio streaming of many Minnesota sporting events
- Minnesota Photo Store
- DVD store
- Live online auctions
- Improved Gopher video player
- Gametracker Live Stats
Both premium and free video content will be available through the new Gopher All-Access. Gopher All-Access brings an improved audio and video experience to fans with live game broadcasts, exclusive behind-the-scenes video, game highlights, original programming and press conferences. Both premium and free content will be available through the new Gopher All-Access at a monthly rate of $9.95 or a yearly rate of $79.95.
With the addition of Minnesota to its list of partners, the CBSSports.com College Network now includes more than 70 percent of FBS institutions and 11 Big Ten schools, a dominant position entering the 2011 college football season.
