Brown won a Big Ten steeplechase title as a Gopher.

Former Golden Gopher track standout Emily Brown finished sixth in the USA Half Marathon Championship on Saturday. With the temperature at about 60 degrees in Duluth, Minn., Brown crossed the finish line in one hour, 12 minutes and 44 seconds. She was part of a 70-athlete women's field in the Championship, which was hosted by Grandma's Marathon.

Brown was a three-year letterwinner for Minnesota (2005-07). She won the 2006 Big Ten title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and went on to earn All-America honors with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
