With the 2014 season just around the corner, junior Ellis Mannon is working on perfecting his new skill on parallel bars - the Healy. An All-American in 2013, Mannon was the NCAA runner-up on pommel horse last season. He scored a career-high on parallel bars with a score of 14.600 at Nebraska.
Last August, Mannon competed at the 2013 P&G Gymnastics Championships, posting an all-around score of 161.500, which was good for 24th place. He tied for 15th place on the pommel horse with a combined score of 26.900 after scoring a 14.850 in the event finals. Mannon also placed 15th on parallel bars (28.250), including a 14.350 in the finals. Last season, Mannon competed on pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar for the Gophers and looks to carry over his recent success into the 2014 season.
