NHL: Phil Kessel Makes It Look Easy

During the 2005-06 season, Phil Kessel racked up 51 points (18 goals, 33 assists) in 39 games and wowed college hockey crowds with spectacular goals like this: 


Seven years later...not a whole lot has changed. 

The Toronto Maple Leafs forward gave his team an early lead with his fourth goal of the year in an eventual 4-2 Toronto win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night. Through 20 games this season, Kessel has 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) and is averaging a point a game over his last five appearances. Here's Kessel's goal to put the Maple Leafs up 1-0 in Monday's first period: 



Noteworthy: 

*Nick Leddy had  a full stat sheet in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over Edmonton. In addition to an assist for the Chicago defenseman, Leddy also tallied four hits and two blocked shots as the former Gopher finished the game as  a plus-two.
