NHL: Martin Blasts Home His Fourth of the Year

| No TrackBacks
Paul Martin led all skaters in last night's Penguins/Panthers game with 27:33 of ice time and was a game-high +3. He also had this blast of a one-timer to bring Pittsburgh within a goal in an eventual 6-4 loss to Florida.

Martin's four goals are the most he's had in his three years with the Penguins while the veteran needs just two more to match his career high (six in 2003-04 -- his rookie season with New Jersey). The former Gopher, who also had three hits and a blocked shot in the loss, has 15 points in 20 games this season.

Noteworthy

*Thomas Vanek assisted on both of Buffalo's goals in a 2-1 win over Tampa on Tuesday night. The Sabres forward currently ranks third in the NHL with 27 points this year.

*Alex Goligoski had an assist in Dallas' 5-4 win over Columbus. The defenseman set up Brenden Morrow's fifth of the year to open the night's scoring for the Stars.
