Former Gopher Jordan Leopold's two-point night in Tuesday's 3-4 loss at Ottawa included the defenseman's first goal of the season -- a nice redirect in the second period that brought the Sabres within two goals of the Senators.

The former Hobey Baker Award winner also picked up an assist and finished the night as a +1 with four blocked shots and a hit. Fellow former Gophers Thomas Vanek and Jim O'Brien were held off the scores sheet on Tuesday. Vanek leads the NHL with 19 points this season.

Wheeler Starts Jets' Rally

Down 1-0 to Florida in the second period, Blake Wheeler blasted his fourth goal of the year to even the game in an eventual 3-2 overtime win for Winnipeg.

Noteworthy

*Paul Martin and Kyle Okposo both recorded an assists as Martin and the Penguins topped Okposo and Islanders 4-2 on Tuesday.
*Phil Kessel had a pair of assists including a helper on the eventual game winner in Toronto's 3-2 win over Washington.
