After an early Thursday practice at Mariucci Arena, Minnesota hopped on a bus bound for Madison. The Gophers' first stop in Wisconsin was the Kohl Center to drop off equipment and prepare for Saturday's morning skate. From there, the team arrived at the hotel for dinner (chili was the resounding favorite of the team while steak, salad and baked potatoes were also on the menu). It was an early night for the team as players and staff alike retired to their rooms to watch the Gopher men's basketball team pick up a win over Wisconsin.
The Saturday schedule started early as it often does for the Gophers with team breakfast before departing for morning skate at the Kohl Center. The light skate coincided with support staff preparing for Friday's game while some members of the team also checked out Wisconsin's brand new LaBahn Center. The Gophers returned to the hotel following skate for one last team meeting to go over strategies and situations before the standard pre-game meal (with a bonus of fish this time of year).
Right now, the team is either resting or preparing for tonight's series opener. The Gophers will head to the Kohl Center in a couple hours before the action gets started at 7 p.m.
While Minnesota's first 24 hours of this weekend's road trip have been standard for the team, the rest of the weekend will be anything but once tonight's game concludes.
Reminder that tonight's game is on FOX Sports North and 1500 ESPN.
