No. 9 - Sam Warning's Late Goal Beats St. Cloud State
No. 10 - Rau Rolls The Dice
It was one of those nights.
Minnesota was thoroughly dominating St. Cloud State on Jan. 28, but was having trouble putting away the pesky Huskies on the road. The Gophers would outshoot St. Cloud State 46-12 for the game, but the two teams were deadlocked 2-2 with less than 90 seconds to play.
That is when Jake Hansen, Justin Holl and Sam Warning broke out on a three-on-two rush and used quick, crisp passing to secure the Minnesota win. Hansen found Holl who quickly found Warning who found the back of the net to lift Minnesota to a 3-2 win in St. Cloud.
The goal was Warning's first since Oct. 21 and was his fourth of the season, as he ended a lengthy goal-scoring drought. It was also his first WCHA point.
