No. 8 - Bjugstad Beauty Befuddles Bulldogs
No. 9 - Warning Tames The Huskies
No. 10 - Rau Rolls The Dice
Nick Bjugstad (G-60 interview and video highlights) turned in a scintillating sophomore season with 25 goals and 17 assists. But it was his breathtaking goal at Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 15 that helped establish the power forward from Blaine, Minn., as one of the best players in the country.
The goal also helped Minnesota sweep the Bulldogs and improve to 2-1-1 all-time at Duluth's new Amsoil Arena.
Bjugstad, who was an All-WCHA First Team member and Second Team All-American, led Minnesota in goals with 25. He tallied the most goals by a Gopher since Ryan Potulny had 38 during the 2005-06 season.
As his goal at Minnesota Duluth illustrated, Bjugstad was his best on the road last season. He had 21 points (9g-12a) in 16 road games and had a point in 13 games away from Mariucci Arena.
Minnesota ended the year with a 20-6-1 record when Bjugstad recorded a point.
