Gophersports.com: Why did you choose the sport of wrestling?

Peterson: I wanted to be tough, and wrestling is a tough sport.
GS: What was the biggest adjustment you had to make when moving
from high school wrestling to college wrestling?
BP: Learning
to control my weight was a big adjustment (I'm still adjusting...).
GS: What is the feeling like after a big
takedown or scoring a pin?
BP: When I get a big takedown or pin in a match, I feel excited
like I got 100% on a final exam that was worth the entire grade of a 4 credit
4000 level honors course in a subject that I don't even like.
GS: What team or individual performance are you most proud of?
BP: Winning the North Country Open tournament is arguable my
best accomplishment in wrestling so far.
GS: Where is your favorite place to eat on campus?
BP: I like to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings.
GS: What is your favorite Minnesota tradition?
BP: I can't think of any (I'm from
Michigan).
GS: What is the best part of being a member of the Minnesota
wrestling team?
BP: The people I get to often be around make joining the Gophers
amazing.
GS: Why did you choose Minnesota?
BP: I choose Minnesota because they
were the best team that recruited me.
GS: Who on the team is the team prankster?
BP: We are pretty good; I wouldn't call anybody a prankster.
GS: What have you learned from wrestling that has helped you in
other aspects of your life?
BP: I have learned how to perform more excellently in spite of
pain or discomfort.
GS: What is your favorite sports movie?
BP: I don't have one.
GS: What are you listening to on your iPod right now?
BP: At this moment I am not listening to my MP3 player, but I
like to listen to (and sing) hymns like To
God be the Glory by Fanny Crosby and William Howard Doane.
GS: Do you have any pre-match superstitions?
BP: I pray to a supernatural God.
GS: What are your goals for this season?
BP: My goal this year is to win every tournament I wrestle in.
GS: What is your favorite sport outside of wrestling?
BP: Volleyball might be my second favorite sport to do.
GS: What has been the best memory in your
Gopher wrestling career?
BP: Watching the last 20 seconds of Jayson Ness's national
championship match is probably my best Gopher wrestling memory.
GS: If you had the choice to travel either forward or backward
in time, which would you choose? Why?
BP: I would rather go back in time;
there are a lot of things that I would like to see throughout history.
GS: Where
do you like wrestling at more the Pavilion of Williams Arena?
BP: I like Williams Arena more than the Pav because it is
bigger.
GS: What
is your favorite TV show?
BP: I don't watch TV.
GS: What
is your favorite food?
