Minnesota also moved from No. 5 to No. 1 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. The Gophers began the season unranked in this poll.
The 9-1-0 Gophers last played a game ranked No. 1 on Nov. 29, 2008. They tied Michigan State 4-4 at home.
Minnesota swept rival North Dakota at home last weekend.

It is tremendous to see the growth and emergence of thia team and their tremendous skills. Congatulations to the team and outstanding coaches on this hard earned recognition.
