Game Time with Grimm: Minnesota-Wisconsin Preview

The voice of Gopher Football, Mike Grimm, gives fans five things to watch (and listen) for in Saturday's game against Wisconsin:

1. CONTINUED CONFIDENCE: The Gophers are a team that is gaining confidence and they need to continue to do things that help them grow. Even in last Saturday's loss you could see signs that things were starting to click for more and more Minnesota players.

2. STAY GRAY: Minnesota's MarQueis Gray threw for more yards against Michigan State than any signal caller this season. After taking a big step forward against Iowa, he took another step in the right direction in the loss at Michigan State. As I said in the preseason, this team will win games if Gray is making plays.

3. GOOD McKNIGHT: Da'Jon McKnight had a career game last week against the nation's top passing defense. It was an all-Big Ten type of performance. He got involved early and never looked back. Gray will have to dial in his top target early in this game Saturday.

4. DEFENSE! DEFENSE!: Wisconsin is tough to stop on offense. They have a downhill running game and a good intermediate passing attack that makes it difficult to slow down key on any one area. The Gopher defensive coaches will have to call up some great strategies, as they have the past two weeks, in order to contain the powerful Bucky offense.

5. CHIEF ENGINEER: There are a lot of moving parts with our game broadcast every Saturday. The man who keeps us on the air and pushing all the buttons is our chief engineer Dan Rowbatham. He has to monitor multiple locations, including pregame site, restaurant locations, the radio booth, the scoreboard desk, the sidelines, the locker room, and our broadcast studio. He is one of the top men in the business, so our sound is outstanding.
