BRAD JAMES AT A GLANCE
COACHING TIMELINE

• Promoted to director of golf in charge of both the men’s and women’s programs at Minnesota in June of 2007.
• Named head men’s golf coach in July of 2002 after spending one season as the interim head coach.
• Assistant Coach of the Golden Gophers for six seasons.
• Primary recruiter for golf program, including 1998 NCAA Champion James McLean and All-Americans Justin Smith, Simon Nash, Martin LeMesurier, Wilhelm Schauman, Bronson La’Cassie, Niall Turner and Victor Almstrom.

TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS UNDER JAMES
• Guided Minnesota to its first national title in 2002, becoming the first northern school in 23 years to win the NCAA crown.
• Coached the Gophers to a third-place NCAA finish in 2006 and a tie for ninth in 2007.
• Directed Minnesota to Big Ten titles in 2002, 2003 and 2007.
• Coached Minnesota during six consecutive NCAA Championships appearances (1998-2003).

INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS UNDER JAMES
• Coached 10 different All-Americans during nine seasons with Minnesota program.
• Coached nine PING All-Region selections since 2003.
• Coached 11 All-Big Ten selections in five seasons as head coach.
• Bronson La’Cassie named four-time All-American 2004, ’05, ’06 and ’07.
• Justin Smith named three-time All-American in 2002, ’03 and ’04.
• Matt Anderson named 2002 All-American.
• Simon Nash named two-time All-American in 2001 and ’03.
• Nial Turner named two-time All-American in 2006 and ’07.
• Matt Anderson, Simon Nash and Justin Smith named 2003 All-Big Ten
• Justin Smith medalist of 2002 NCAA West Regional
• Victor Almstrom named 2007 All-American.
• Clayton Rask named 2008 All-American.
• Many of his former players have advanced to play on major professional tour including: James McLean (PGA Tour), Wilhelm Schauman (European PGA Tour), Simon Nash (European PGA Tour), Justin Smith (Nationwide Tour), Matt Anderson (Hooters Tour), Ben Greve (Canadian Tour), Bronson La’Cassie (PGA Tour of Australasia) and Clayton Rask (Canadian Tour).

ACADEMIC HONORS
• Coached two Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars (Matt Anderson-2003, David Morgan-2004)
• Simon Nash earned Verizon Academic All-America honors in 2003

COACHING ACCOLADES
• Named Big Ten Coach of the Year for 2003.
