COACHES COMMENTS: "Tina has done a great job for us during her career at Minnesota.  She is a hard working and dedicated player who does whatever we ask her to do to make our team the best that we can be.  Tina is one of our most versatile players and has seen action on both the left side and the right side of the infield.  We look forward to Tina being a major contributor during her senior year and we are all excited to watch her continue to improve her game."

2009 • JUNIOR SEASON: Academic All-Big Ten • named the team's Most Improved Player, as chosen by her teammates • won the Maroon and Gold Severson Award which recognizes outstanding dedication to the program • appeared in 35 games with 25 starts • after beginning the season as the second basemen, spent the conference season patrolling the hot corner • started first career game on Feb. 6 in the season opener against Florida Gulf Coast • started final 16 games of the season • batted .179 (10-for-56) on the season with eight RBI and seven runs scored • earned seven walks • was perfect stealing bases going 3-for-3 • tallied 35 putouts and 47 assists • made just six errors and tallied a fielding percentage of .932 • 17 strikeouts were the lowest among regulars • knocked in first career RBI and scored first career run in the season opener • later on Feb. 6, against North Florida, knocked in a career high three RBI, which she would match on Apr. 8 against Northwestern • Apr.8 against NU was also first career multi-hit game with two hits • earned first career, collecting a career high two, against Illinois State on Feb. 7 • raced up a career high six assists on Apr. 18 against Penn State • tallied a career high four putouts on Apr. 22 against Wisconsin • first career stolen base came in the second game of a double header with Northwestern on Apr. 8 • named a U of M Gold Scholar Athlete • earned second letter.

2008 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Saw action in three games • was 2-for-2 as a pinch hitter during the 2008 season • first hit as a Golden Gopher was a pinch-hit single in a 9-2 win over Oakland (2/23) • delivered a pinch-hit single in a 8-0 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay (4/30) • earned first letter.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended St. Anthony Village High School in Minneapolis • coaches during high school career were Tim Gormley, Chuck Medved and Bob Meixner • was a two-year captain for the Huskies • also twice named team MVP (“Husky Award”) • hit .380 as a junior and .388 as a senior •  four-year softball letterwinner also played basketball in high school, lettering as a junior • Metro Alliance All-Conference selection in 2004 and 2005 • Honorable Mention All-Conference in 2002 • played for Wisconsin Danes, Minnesota Blizzard, Northern Lights and Minnesota Irish club teams • played under current Augsburg College head coach Gormley with Northern Lights in 2004 and 2005 • finished second at state tournament with Northern Lights in 2005 •  played winter softball under Chuck Medved for the Totino Grace Eagles in 2004 and 2005.

PERSONAL: Transferred from Missouri State midway through 2006-07 school year • parents are Lawrence and Bernadette Watts • psychology major • born Aug. 31, 1987.
