Milestones: 
Dished out his 100th career assist against Kennesaw State (12/29/07) in the second game of the Duel in the Desert in Las Vegas.

2008-09  |  Junior Season: 
Played 10 minutes and dished out three assists in the season opener against Concordia-St. Paul (11/14).

2007-08  |  Sophomore Season:
Collected the assist on the first points of the Tubby Smith era on a fastbreak dunk by senior Dan Coleman •   dished out six assists in just nine minutes against UC Riverside (12/1)  • scored a season-high six points vs. North Dakota State (12/3) • tied a season high with six points against Santa Clara (12/22) • averaged 2.0 points and 12.0 minutes played per game during the Duel in the Desert (12/28-30) • started and played a season-high 19 minutes against Illinois (3/8) • letterwinner.

2006-07 | Freshman Season:
Played in all 31 games and made 13 starts • averaged 2.2 points and 2.5 assists per game • had five or more assists five times • had six points and two assists in 29 minutes vs. Wisconsin (2/14) • had eight points, six boards, two assists and a steal in 37 minutes at Illinois (2/3) • had five points, three rebounds and seven assists in 30 minutes vs. Northwestern (1/31) • set career highs with 12 points, on 4-of-8 shooting, 2-of-5 from three-point range, five rebounds and eight assists in 38 minutes vs. Penn State (1/27) • played a career-high 39 minutes, scored four points and had five rebounds at UAB (12/5) • recorded a career-high nine assists with two blocks and two steals in 28 minutes vs. Arizona State (12/2) • had five assists, three rebounds and a block in 22 minutes vs. Iowa State (11/21) • made his first career start and scored three points, dished out six assists and grabbed seven boards with a steal in 30 minutes vs. North Dakota State (11/13) • letterwinner.

High School:
A graduate of Camden High School • high school coach was Clarence Turner • named All-South Jersey First Team by the Philadelphia Inquirer • played in the Capital Classic for the United States All-Stars • started and scored seven points, with four rebounds, four assists and one block in 20 minutes • averaged 26.1 points (third in south Jersey) as a senior • missed seven games his senior season with a separated shoulder, returned for the playoffs and led his team to the state championship game • led his team to a state track championship • state 400 -meter track champion • was second in the 200 and was on the second-place 4x400 relay team.

Personal:
Youth studies major • son of Charles Payton and Angelica Hittinger • father played professionally in Austria and now coaches the Wels pro team in Austria • born December 7, 1986.
