Big athletic pitcher who has shown the ability to throw 88 to 91 mph, and is projectable to 93 to 94 mph came in as true freshman and filled a vareity of roles for the Golden Gophers as both a starter and a late-inning reliever led team in ERA as a true freshman power pitcher who throw strikes and mixes in a curve ball drafted in the 28th round by the Minnesota Twins will be a key member of the pitching staff this year.
2008 FRESHMAN SEASON:
Went 1-1 with a 4.34 ERA and struck out 32 batters in 47.2 innings made five starts and 14 appearances on the year threw the most innings by a Golden Gopher freshman since 2001 was 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA, and made all five of his starts in conference play pitched 30.0 innnings in Big Ten play, and struck out 14 batters while only walking seven was 1-0 with a save and a 1.89 ERA in six appearances at the Metrodome went 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in five appearances against ranked opposition pitched two shutout innings, struck out two and only gave up one hit in his debut against No. 4 Ole Miss on Feb. 23 picked up his first career save by pitching two thirds scoreless innings against No. 18 Tulane pitched 3.2 shutout innings against North Dakota State, giving up three hits and striking out three on Mar. 19 picked up his first career win on Mar. 26 when he pitched four shutout innings against No. 2 Missouri went five innings, gave up seven hits, three runs, did not walk a batter and struck out three in his first career start against Indiana on Mar. 30 pitched a career-high 6.1 innings, gave up seven hits, three runs and struck out three batters on Apr. 20 against Illinois pitched five or more innnings in four of his five starts on the year finished the year with a save against Penn State on May 17 when he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduated from Mounds View High School coached by Brad Tullberg and Mark Downey named All-State, All-Area and All-Conference as a senior was Honorable Mention All-Big Ten as a junior had a 1.60 ERA in 45 innings of work in his senior season went 6-2 with a save, a 2.60 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 58 innings for Tri-City Red in Legion ball his junior year was named Honorable Mention All-Conference in basketball in his junior year helped basketball team finish third in the state in his sophomore season three-year letterwinner in basketball and two-year letterwinner in baseball.
PERSONAL:
Planning to major in business and marketing education son of Mark and Liv Rosin lists going to the Babe Ruth World Series as a 14-year old as his most memorable sports moment likes to go fishing in his spare time has two siblings Aeli and Ben born on November 2, 1988.
