On September 12, 2009, Gopher football will return to campus for the first time in almost three decades. More than 50,000 people will likely attend each game, transforming the Twin Cities campus into a busy, spirited environment.
This change provides many exciting opportunities for a new game day culture on campus. It also presents some challenges: access to campus, parking near campus, and accommodations at campus-area restaurants and hotels will be more limited on home game days.
When planning campus events for 2009 and beyond, it will be important to be aware of the dates for the seven Saturdays each year when the Gophers will be playing football in TCF Bank Stadium.
