High School
Spent one full season with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL • also played 24 games for the Stars during the 2002-03 season • teammate of former Golden Gophers Danny Irmen and Ryan Potulny • head coach was Steve Johnson • had 13 goals and 25 assists in 68 career games • was seventh on the team and 77th in the league in scoring in 2003-04 with 9-19--28 • battled injuries during the 2003-04 season • helped the Stars to the 2003 Clark Cup Championship with 6-1--7 in 10 games • played his prep hockey at International Falls High School • head coach was Kevin Gordon • led the state in scoring during his senior season with 38-43--81 in 25 games • 2003 Mr. Hockey finalist • named AP all-state, St. Paul Pioneer Press all-state, Duluth News Tribune all-area and All-Iron Range • also named the 2003 News Tribune Player of the Year • during his junior season, finished second in the state in scoring with 24-55--79, two points behind formers Golden Gopher Gino Guyer and 10 points ahead of Andy Sertich • named all-state honorable mention by the AP and Pioneer Press • also named second team all-area by the News Tribune • was a member of the 2002 U.S. Under-18 Select Team • first native of International Falls to become a Golden Gopher since Dean Blais in 1973.
