University
of Minnesota senior wide receiver Eric Decker has been named All-Big Ten in a
vote of the conference's coaches.
The
Big Ten Conference announced its all-conference teams Monday night. In addition
to Decker, five other Gophers received All-Big Ten Honorable Mention accolades.
On the coaches' team, senior linebacker
Lee Campbell, senior linebacker Simoni Lawrence and senior cornerback Traye
Simmons were all named honorable mention.
The media vote resulted in Decker,
Campbell, Lawrence, Simmons, junior kicker Eric Ellestad and senior tight end
Nick Tow-Arnett all earning honorable mention recognition.
For Decker, it was his second
consecutive season of First Team All-Big Ten recognition. Decker earned the
distinction, despite playing in just more than seven games. He suffered a season-ending
foot injury early in the eighth game of the season at Ohio State.
The Big Ten also recognized a Sportsmanship Award honoree from each of conference school. Decker was named Minnesota's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for the Gophers.
