The University of Minnesota baseball team will hold a coaches clinic at the Gibson-Nagurski football practice facility on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Registration for the event will last from 8 to 8:55 a.m., followed by an introduction by Minnesota Head Coach John Anderson from 8:55 to 9 a.m. Minnesota Pitching Coach Todd Oakes will start with a session on “Mechanics in Motion” from 9 to 9:35 a.m. That will be followed by Minnesota Assistant Coach Lee Swenson’s session on “Blocking and throwing for catchers” which will run from 9:40 to 10:15 a.m.

Minnesota Assistant Head Coach Rob Fornasiere will follow with a session on “Infield Defense Fundamentals” from 10:20 to 11 a.m. That will be followed by a session on “Bunting and small ball game” from 11:05 to 11:45 a.m. by Anderson.

Lunch will go from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by Minnesota Coach Todd Oakes’ session on “Pickoffs and Holding Runners” from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. Swenson will follow with a session on "Defensive Plays for Catchers" from 1:05 to 1:30 p.m. Anderson will then run a session on “Identifying Swing Faults and Drills for Correction” from 1:35 to 2:05 p.m. and Fornasiere will close out the clinic with a session on “Scoring from second, and home to first base fundamentals” from 2:10 to 2:30 p.m.

Current Golden Gopher baseball players will be on hand to demonstrate the fundamentals that will be shown during the clinic.

The cost for the Coaches Clinic will be $40.00 per person including a box lunch with pre-registration until Feb. 6. If you would like a parking pass, the cost is $5 (a $45 total). Parking passes will be mailed prior to Feb. 9. It will be $35.00 without a box lunch at the door.
